Autumn colours at Westonbirt Arboretum
We had a lovely outing to Westonbirt Arboretum last week. The autumn colours are at their most spectacular just now, and we chose a cold but sunny day to stroll through the arboretum and marvel at their splendour. All the photos in this post are taken with an iPhone, as we stupidly forgot to take our DSLR; but they still give an impression of how beautiful the arboretum looks at this time of year.
I love the light in this one, even if it is a tad overexposed – it really highlights the slender shape of the branches and delicate yellow leaves. I’m just so annoyed at myself for not waiting until the people in the background had gone!
This striking red leaf caught my eye among a sea of yellows and browns.
Westonbirt describes its autumn colours as “a natural firework display”. It’s not hard to see why.
It was the first time I’d worn my new red coat. I’m totally in love with it – and it matches the autumn colours!
This is probably my favourite photo that I took that morning. If only I’d brought along the DSLR!
Finally, this tree seemed half way through its transformation!
