Broadway Tower in the snow
Life can sometimes feel like a series of disappointments, setbacks and sad news. This, for all we try to show otherwise on social media (or blogs!), is simply part of being human, but it must be said that there’s something about working in solitude at home everyday that seems to amplify such feelings until one finds oneself in a state of relentless anxiety. Such was the mood in which I drove gingerly up an icy Fish Hill this morning to Broadway Tower, hoping to find a moment’s escape from the thoughts that seem continuously to circle my mind.
It’s been ages since I’ve driven up to Broadway to work on my laptop in the cafe there, but something told me that today was the day to reinstate this perk of freelance life. It proved to be a good move, because I found the Cotswolds landscape transformed into a winter wonderland after a light dusting of snow overnight. Here, without any further commentary, are some of the photographs I took on the little walk I enjoyed before starting work; I had the place entirely to myself, and it put the biggest grin on my face!
