365 Days of Happy – Month 4
I can scarcely believe I’m already a third of the way through my 30th year. Here are my efforts for this month’s daily Instagram challenge. As you can see, it’s been another busy month!
Day 94
A successful barbecue at the airfield for our club members, organised by yours truly.
Day 95
We went down to my parents’ house in Wiltshire, where we were delighted to be reunited with the dogs, including the lovely Sally :)
Day 96
The most wonderfully relaxing morning at the gorgeous Thermae Bath Spa!
Day 97
We flew to Redhill Aerodrome in Surrey for lunch in the sunshine.
Day 98
I made friends with this beautiful little calf at the farm shop.
Day 99
Heavy rain and thunderstorms overnight left the garden especially vibrant and smelling gorgeous. The roses are coming out now and looked beautiful covered with raindrops.
Day 100
A cute little furry bumblebee in the garden, pictured after I got back from my most successful advanced driving session so far.
Day 101
Roses in the garden on a sunny day.
Day 102
My first ever flight in a flexwing microlight! More photos and a video here.
Day 103
Free dough balls at Pizza Express with Lee. It pays to be on restaurant mailing lists!
Day 104
Putting Wilhelm to bed at the end of the day.
Day 105
We returned again to my old Oxford college, St John’s, for a lovely four-course dinner with my sister, who’s just finished at Oxford. The dinner had an Alice in Wonderland theme, hence the biscuits!
Day 106
A sugar mouse left over from the dinner at college.
…and fun on the ride-on lawnmower at the airfield!
Day 107
Sunday baking – my trusty banana bread.
And then flying – look what we saw!! It’s only the world’s last ever flying Vulcan bomber in her final flying season before she’s grounded forever, and she came right over the top of us! Awesome!
Day 108
Day off after working all weekend. We cycled into town and had lunch by the river.
Day 109
A nice day weather-wise, so I got to do some flying in Wilhelm. Working, once again, on my landings.
Day 110
Another late-afternoon potter in Wilhelm. This time we headed north to Henley-in-Arden.
Day 111
A lovely dinner at an old haunt of mine, Branca in Oxford, with Lee, my parents, Nel and Tom.
Day 112
Puppy cuddling at Guide Dogs took up my morning, but I was too busy cuddling the little puppies to get any photos of them! So today’s picture is of the honeysuckle and roses currently making the garden smell amazing.
Day 113
We flew Wilhelm to Shobdon Food and Flying Festival. It was our third year in a row – here’s my write-up from last year.
Day 114
The last flying Vulcan bomber again graced us with her presence as part of her V Force Tour – a final tour of the country over the remaining Vulcan/V Force airframes, one of which is at Wellesbourne.
Day 115
What better way to kick off Wimbledon fortnight than strawberries for breakfast?
Day 116
A gorgeous day to be out on the river on our day off.
Day 117
Hottest day of the year! It started with some work in the shady end of the garden, until the sun moved round.
Day 118
Yummy Ploughmans for lunch when I met up with my mum near Northleach in the Cotswolds.
Day 119
Puppy cuddling in my role as ‘puppy socialiser’ at Guide Dogs!
Day 120
A miniature Dachshund puppy called Stanley asleep on my lap – perfection itself!
And, in the evening, a firework display over the river in Stratford.
Day 121
Garden party at St John’s College, Oxford, with my sister Nel and her boyfriend Tom.
Day 122
I worked all day and forgot to take a photo, so here’s another one of the puppies instead!
Day 123
A beautiful waterlily flower in bloom on our pond.
